Do we see a theme here?

So these are the things I created this weekend. Look at the colors - do we see a pink trend here??

In other news, I was pretty disappointed that I didn't make a certain design team. I have really been wanting to be a part of a group and have challenges and milestones for my creations, but alas, today again is not my day. I know that one day it will happen for me, but right now I'm just not in the mood. :(

Oh well. After all, tomorrow is another day. Isn't that from "Gone With The Wind"?

Croppin'

It doesn't get any better than this, does it? Unlimited hours of crafting with your best friend. Oh - and the margaritas didn't hurt either! :)

Chicas Unite!

So, I thought this was such an awesome picture that I did it up into a scrapbook page for a weekly challenge on one of my sites. I didn't get a good shot of it because, alas, I do not own a scanner that works with my current OS anymore. Oh well.... I guess I need to bite the bullet and actually buy one or at least get all my programs running natively on OSX. So for now I use the camera. But the challenge was to use green for St. Pat's day - and it looks very green, don't ya think??

Weekend Projects

So, I am in a altering mood I guess. I covered these two match boxes this weekend in some of my new BG paper and some other paper - can't remember the name of it! Oops! :)

Anyway - I am having so much fun. But now I'm sick with a bad cold and probably won't get much else done. Blah!

Fun project

Today I had nothing going on and didn't want to get into anything major. I should have been doing Debbie's Circle Journal but I was procrastinating on that - just wasn't ready yet. So I did this instead. I made my own chipboard letters and covered them with one of my kit papers - I love the brown and pink. Now off to find an empty place to hang it. HA!

Happy Saturday!

Hope you don't mind!!!

Kit Day!

Two of my kit subscriptions arrived today on the same day - how cool is that? I got some awesome Gin-X, KI Memories, 3 Bugs in a Rug and even a free little 6X6 kit thanking me for my business. Couple that with the awesome collection of BG papers I got earlier in the week and I am in scrap heaven! :)

Hope you are all having a good day too! :)

Circle Journal

This is the circle journal I created for the "Crafty Chicas." My friends and I meet once a month to craft and swap and this month we're going to trade circle journals for the first time. I am so excited! Even though our group is small, I am dying to see what the other girls create because we are all such good friends. I had one theme in mind but then I changed it to: "Happy Things" (things that make you happy) because I thought it would be more fun and revealing.

Last month we made altered board books -- I'm still working on mine! Ten pages is a lot to decorate! :)

Also - here's a picture of the old type drawer I bought at an antique store this weekend. I've already mounted it on the wall and started putting my rubber stamps in it. I'm trying to get more organized in my "studio." Wow - I feel like a real artist when I call it my studio. Ha.

Here's to a creative week!

Awesome!

Debbie - I have this book on PREORDER! You know I have to have this one!! It is so me, so Laurie! I love the cover. There's another one coming out too this month: "Designing with Type." It looks good too, but I am going to hold off on that one just yet.

Did I tell you I got the "Greetings" one? I liked it. Still - my fave is the rubber stamp one.

RAK

So... for awhile in the scrapbooking forum world I've read a lot about "RAK's". I didn't know what the initials stood for and for a long time I was puzzled. I dug around and finally figured out that RAK stands for: Random Acts of Kindness. And then I got really interested.

I have always been intrigued in this (in being kind) but also about being randomly kind to strangers to see the ripple effect it can have. It's sort of like the movie: "Pay It Forward." (If you haven't seen that one I suggest you rent it soon!) Years ago I also bought the book: "Random Acts of Kindness." It's filled with ways to be nice to people anonymously. One of the simpliest of suggestions it had was to leave little bags of M&M's in people's junk drawers. What a nice surprise when you're looking for a thumbtack! It really gets you thinking.

And then I got this email today from Scrapbook.com. They've been running a blog challenge for people to post their stories or to urge them to go out and do something nice for someone.

Post: BLOG CHALLENGE: It's kindness that counts... (Topic#1361573)

Isn't this the best? Good for you, Scrapbook.com! Keep it going! :)
